A sherwani is usually of knee-length and it fits close to the body. The sherwani coat is fastened in front with the help of buttons. Embroidery is done on sherwani to enhance its appearance.

A sherwani is famous as a wedding outfit in India. A sherwani signifies the rich traditional fashion with elegance and style.

Men don a Sherwani over the Kurta and Churidar or straight Pajama. In case you don’t wear kurta, you can go for a vest or a tee shirt inside. As a part of fashion, a Sherwani is sometimes teamed with a Dhoti.

Turban or Safa

Safa for Groom

Safa is a traditional headwear. A turban must be royal, yet classic as it rests on the head. You can try velvet, floral, embroidered, or silk turban in different styles.

Groom Sherwani with Stole and Belt

A pocket square or a silk stole can work wonders on your sherwani giving a mix of traditional and classic look. In some communities Belts (Kamarbandh) are worn on groom sherwani.

Mojari or jooti

Avoid formal shoes. Match your sherwani with a pair of Mojari or jooti that go perfectly with the dress. This will give a splendid look to your attire.

Synchronise with bridal dress – Most Important

You don’t need to match the colour exactly with bride dress, but yes, a little contrast is important. Coordinate and wear something that compliments you and makes you a power couple.
